night escapes

the BOD bike group had our big practice for 24HOA at the Conyers Int’l Horse Park (site of the ’96 Olympic Mtn Bike course). riding at night for the first time in over a year (and really only my second time ever on singletrack) reminds me how peaceful the night is. you’d think racing through tight trails at night would be scary (ok, it still is a bit!), but somehow the darkness around you and the relative narrowness of your headlamp really makes you become one with your bike. it’s nice to be able to forget about everything else for a bit.
